Spotify x GTA 6 Integration

Would it not be possible for Rockstar to integrate the Spotify app into GTA 6? Like, just have the app available to use instead of the normal radio in cars? Imagine you could drive around with your friends while playing your own Spotify playlist, jamming out!

Idk how that would work on the legal side of things with copyright and all of that.
But I feel like it would be similar to how PlayStation, Xbox, and smart TV’s now just have the Spotify installed. And you would be able to open the app inside of the game. I think that would be dope and it feels possible. I would say that Spotify premium would be required, which would be great advertisement for Spotify.

I also made a Reddit thread 2 years ago and had a lot of people discussing it.
 
I love the idea, but it sounds like a total legal nightmare. I imagine you'd probably not be able to hear other people's music in their vehicles, or maybe a long but predetermined list of 'allowed' songs.

It would be incredible but the bureaucracy behind it must be crazy
 
In Gran Turismo 7, when you play music on spotify the in game music stops. So an feature along those lines would be good.

I don't think they'll integrate it into the game, but I hope they'll do what GT7 did.

Its a cool idea but I dont know how it will work. I mean Radio is already good enough, Ig they might add something where Hideo Kojima did for Death Stranding where u could use specific musics through ur walkman as u walk towards ur next objective or a place. Plus I think as u mentioned it wouldnt make much sense if Spotify is already available on TV,PS,Xbox for u to hear ur own playlist but yea I also wanted a menu where I could just listen to particular songs that I heard from the radio and they definately can do how DS did.

I thought full integration would be cool because then you could hop in your friend’s car and listen to what they are playing on Spotify.

And when you turn your car off, the music stops. Full integration like that. Like it would be irl.

Using the ps5 Spotify decreases the immersion

I agree, what they add is really good. And they add music for everyone. But with gta 5 they only updated the playlist every few years. The same music gets old listening to over and over.

If Spotify was fully integrated, then you would be able to switch your car radio to it and if your friends hopped in your car, they would hear it just like the radio. If you turn your car off then the music stops, etc.. You could probably even have it playing on your apartment radio and stuff like that.

There’s also a good chance gta 6 has headphones the character can put on and allow you to listen to the music with that. (NBA 2k Mycareer has had this for years)

Good idea tbh... That would be very neat!

And yes that would be a cool thing if a character could have headphones/earphones where if they're on so could you listen to the GTA VI radio-stations or music from Spotify, Apple Music etc. I think that's possible and GTA VI might even have some surprises for us so I'm really looking forward to what Rockstar Games will be revealing about GTA VI during 2025! 👀
