We’re down to the final stretch Sword of the Sea lands on August 19, 2025 for PS5, just over a week from now! This is the latest from Giant Squid, the studio behind Abzû and The Pathless. Ever since their split from ThatGameCompany, they’ve knocked out three incredible games, and this one looks like it could top them all.
The gameplay mixes smooth, sand-surfing movement with vast, surreal landscapes that feel like they’ve been pulled straight from a dream. The art direction is stunning every frame from the trailers looks like it could hang in a gallery. It definitely has that Journey spirit, but with its own unique energy and style. I’m more than ready to dive in and get lost in this world. The combination of fluid traversal, meditative exploration, and jaw-dropping visuals is exactly what I’ve been craving.
