Could be a title or specific event. Maybe even something gradual.

For me it's twofold: PS1 & Halo.

PS1 as first console & then Halo really got me hooked as a gamer.

Obviously I've got some PS1 all-time faves but with Halo 1 never been a game that's literally & figuratively made my jaw dropped countless times.

That first level after Master Chiefs' ship crashlands alone was absolutely mind-blowing for me as a kid.

I think if I'd to compare it recently would be how Elden Ring made me feel at times especially that Siofia River elevator.

I think most if not all of us gamers can relate with each other in some form or another because of these shared experiences though they may vary it's all the same; the sense of grandeur, the fun times & even those controller-breaking moments.

That's why I believe that we all could easily interact easily with each other because of that sense of familiarity however indirectly it may seem.

I was born in the early 90’s so gaming was always around for me growing up. First console I purchased on my own though was the Xbox 360. That generation holds a special place in my heart.

Man…even through the weird times we’re in of microtransactions and GaaS, gaming has always been a constant, joyful escape.

Watching my older brother play the original Ratchet and Clank on the ps2, I was hooked from there. Don't think I could've had a better introductory console. Not my pic but a tonne of nostalgia:

Yeah well PS1 for me as well... And Nintendo 64!

And the two games that got me hooked is Tekken 2 and Mario 64! (y)

I had a computer which was very old and somehow my brother downloaded a pirated version of GTA Vice city and from there it all started

Dude this bring me to nostalgic tears!!!

These PS2 save icons was a cool touch sadly today they don't do this anymore.

Is the lowest on the right MGS3 or Front Mission? That's the only one I recognize there lol

My earliest memories is a mix between SNES, N64 (despite PS outselling N64 a lot back in the day in the UK, I didn't know much people in my social circle way back then to have much PSes then) and some PC. Command & Conquer is what really got me into gaming.

Said it in a post about showing my age. This one will again.... my first ever computer was a Amstrad CPC464 that "Santa" brought me for Christmas im guessing in the mid 80s at some point.

Paperboy is a game that jumps into my memory as well as Ghouls and Ghosts. My love for Football Manager (same name not same series) started on this "personal coumpter" too.

First console was a PS1 from a friend and that's really what started it off! I remember playing Jet Moto, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and a variety of other games.

From there I think I got a Gameboy Advanced and was my first portable system. Anyone remember the little light attachments you could attach before the screens were backlit? Different times!

Halo at my friends houses growing up are some fond memories and really got me into more hardcore gaming.

Been playing video games as long as I can remember. My earliest memories were OOT on the N64. Through the years growing up though I gravitated towards sports games and Call of Duty when those started releasing. For a long time that was the extent of my gaming world, just Call of Duty games and the yearly Madden/FIFA releases.

In August of 2013 our friend group that played games had started to tire of that years CoD knowing the next one was releasing in a few months, so we were looking for an alternative to play. Then a buddy of mine told me to pick up some game called The Last of Us because it had an interesting multiplayer mode. So I picked it up and playing Factions for awhile before trying out the story.

Completing that story left me questioning how I hadn't heard about this game at all. And since that moment I have followed gaming as closely as I can. From leaks to announcements to inevitable delays and releases. I can't get enough of it.
